5 Summer Fashion Updates from Summer 2016 to Summer 2017
Year to year we see fashion trends come and go. As Heidi Klum says on Project Runway: “One day you’re in, the next day you’re out.”
This holds true not only for the designers on the show but also for your summer wardrobe. Here are five fashion changes from summer 2016 to summer 2017 to make your wardrobe up to date.
1. Flip flops to Slides
Say goodbye to an uncomfortable strap between your toes and hello to the comfortable alternative: slides! Get a pair covered in fur, pearls, or plain rubber ones like the one below and your feet will thank you for this change.
2. Tote bags to Straw basket purses
While we all love a good tote, there is a cuter purse trend coming in hot this summer: straw basket purses! These come in many different shapes and sizes, and some come with colorful embellishments like the one below from Free People. My favorite? A straw basket purse with colorful pom-poms! This trend is playful, colorful, and cute!
3. Boyfriend jeans to Cropped jeans
Cropped jeans are definitely pushing boyfriend jeans aside. Grab a cropped pair with frayed, whiskered edges to make this trend a ten. These cropped jeans from Nordstrom are great because they give you the perfect straight-leg fit you’ll need in order to make this look different from regular capris.
4. Platform sneakers to Espadrilles
While it will be hard to say goodbye to my platform converse, espadrilles are just as comfortable. This trend is extremely versatile and light on your feet! Try a wrap-up espadrille or just a simple graphic print pair and you will automatically freshen up your daily look!
5. Brow-bar sunglasses to Cat eye sunglasses
The fashion world has spoken: cat eyes are back! Last year brow-bar glasses were big and worked their way into many designer brands. However, it is time to put those aside for a more fun and playful look. These cat eye sunglasses from Free People come in different colors and give you the whimsical edge you need for your summer 2017 wardrobe.
Little changes in fashion matter! So put your flip flops, totes, and boyfriend jeans aside and freshen up your look with these five fashion changes from summer 2016 to summer 2017.
